Beginners Guide To Intermittent Fasting And Keto

Beginners Guide Intermittent Fasting, KETO, And 6th Gear

For Those Of You In The Facebook And Linkedin Groups! Please Watch These  Videos!

Welcome and this intro also covers the FB group.

This site is about my journey into Intermittent Fasting, Keto, and 6th Gear that started after watching the second 14-minute video below. I had found in the past that if you want to be successful at something, the fastest way to get great results is to model someone that already has gotten the results you want, follow their lead and do exactly what they do.

I am not a professional bodybuilder or health nut, per say, and this is something that I only spend about 20 minutes a day on. IF and Keto are part of my normal life now and this is my own take on things.

The video below is where it all started.

To succeed in anything that really matters and to succeed in something that you don’t know a whole lot about ( in this case, for me it wasIF/Keto), my thoughts are that you actually need to find someone that is doing it, model them and then put blinders on.  Be very careful about trying to mix in other sources of information or listening to too many other people, because inevitably, this will almost always screw things up. The old saying, too many cooks in the Kitchen ruins the soup, rings true here.

I have observed that Beginners Luck is nothing more than someone following the example of somebody they’ve decided to be their Mentor.  A mentor could be somebody that they actually met or somebody who has no idea who they are, but have written a book or a course, or in this case, Chris Winters did a video.  A mentor, real or virtual, is somebody that’s already gotten the results that you model your actions after to get the new outcome you want to obtain.

Unfortunately, in most cases, with that one teeny success people get by just following instructions originally (they just follow the mentor without interjecting their own thoughts), they start “thinking” and start to either omit or add something to the recipe. Then, they have Buttkiss for results next time.

They ultimately fail after the initial success and, like the knucklehead they are (not you of course, but I have sure been there before in the distant past 😉 ), they blame the system or the mentor. Then, they turn into a living breathing whining crap magnet and tell the world the system does not work!  OK, I did not do that. I was smart enough to figure out I just needed to follow the damn directions. It’s only after I mastered something did I add to the recipe.

When point in fact, if they were not such goobers and just continued to follow the rules until they really mastered what they were doing, it would have been fine. This is why most people fail. Frankly, it screws up pretty much everything new that they try– the big things that matter in life, from changing the way they eat and live, to business. You and I of course are not ones that do that though, right?  Seriously, there is no reason not to succeed at this from day one.

It is like someone complaining about the bread that they are making, it wont not rise because they decided that 1/4 teaspoon of yeast was not necessary. You get my point. 😉  Do not leave out the yeast and you will be good.

So, I resolved to not do anything other than follow what was in the video. Easy Peasy! Guess what? I started getting noticeable results in 24 hours.

That is right, the very next day!

The Result was 6th Gear. You can read more on this by clicking here.  Basically, 6th Gear is operating physically, mentally, emotionally, business wise, and yes, even spiritually at a much higher level. More details on the science of this can be found in the link. Anyway, ” Effing A” I said, “ I LOVE feeling like this” and I have been hooked ever since. I started my Journey 603 days ago on February 7th, 2016 and I have never looked back.

I never expected to do a blog on this but… I am grateful for that little 14-minute free video that Chris Winters did, just trying to help others. It is the least I can do to help pay it forward because it has made such a profound impact on my life. It was by far one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I really can’t emphasize that enough.

I have since dove into the information that is out there on IF and Keto and dieting. Having a very strong interest in Chemistry, Physics and all things science, I was appalled at just how much bad information is out there on this by the “Establishment”.

So while I am not offering medical, psychological, or relationship advice, I will fill you in on how my journey is going and what resources I use on a daily basis on my continuing quest of being and staying in 6th Gear.

This is the video that got me started. All I did for the first 30 days was follow this as I also started doing Keto– nothing more, nothing less, only then did I start doing research on the “what” and the “why”. Keep it simple and you will succeed.

I currently shoot for an 18 hour fast, followed by a 6 hour eating window.  If you want my Quick Start Guide just sign up for the Newsletter below and you should get it right away.  Please remember this is a work in progress and if you find a typo or anything, let me know.  Thanks and best of luck finding 6th Gear!

Cheers,
Andrew Anderson

What you should be eating as a base percentage of your meals.

FATS: 75% – As much as you need within reason.

PROTEIN: 15% 50-80 grams a day. 1 gram per kilogram or 2.2 pounds.

CARBS: 10% 20-40 grams a day.

Most people do not eat enough fats when they first start and too much protein. On the protein try and keep it under 25 to 20 grams at one sitting. We do not worry about calories as much as keeping our Macros in order. I eat about 3,000 calories a day!

I fast for 18 hours and have a 6 hour eating window.  I try and not eat 3 hours before bedtime to let my mitochondria work their best.

What Is 6th Gear?

I explain in the video below!  Some new information that has come out that depression is directly linked to inflammation.  This also helps explain the mood elevation i.e. 6th Gear when you begin doing 6th Gear IF/KETO.

I also use 6th Gear to describe my combination of Intermittent Fasting and Keto.
